about canaryspot
CanarySpot is an independent, bilingual events guide for Tenerife and (soon) the rest of the Canary Islands. We aggregate concerts, parties, exhibitions, theatre, sports, fiestas and family events into a single map you can actually filter — by date, by category, by zone, by free vs paid.
The site exists because there was no single place a Spanish speaker, an English-speaking expat and a UK tourist could all open and find what is on tonight in Tenerife. Municipal calendars are scattered across town-hall PDFs, ticket platforms only show paid shows, and tourist guides repeat the same five carnivals every year. CanarySpot pulls from all of them and shows the result on one map.
How the agenda is built
Events come from a mix of public sources: the islands' municipal agendas (laguna.es, sccultura.es, ayuntamiento sites), official venue calendars (Auditorio de Tenerife, TEA, Teatro Guimerá, ICDC, etc.), ticket platforms (Tickety, ICDCultural), trail/race calendars (gotrail.run), tourism boards (webtenerife.com) and Meetup. Each source is scraped daily, deduplicated, and double-checked by an AI quality pass that catches obvious errors (wrong municipality, broken dates, mistranslations).
Recurring shows are grouped into one card with all upcoming dates, so a weekly market or a nightly dinner show never floods the listings. Every event is linked to its venue on a map, and every venue has its own page listing what is coming up.
Who is behind it
CanarySpot is built and run by a small independent team based in Tenerife. We are not affiliated with any venue, ticket platform, tourism board or municipality. We do not sell tickets and we do not take a cut of any sale — when you click "buy tickets", you land directly on the venue's or platform's page.
Languages, accuracy and corrections
Every page is available in English and Spanish, and the language toggle keeps you on the same event when you switch. Spanish is our primary content language — most events on the island happen in Spanish — but the EN content is fully editorial, not machine-translated boilerplate.
If you spot a wrong date, a misplaced pin, a duplicate or a missing venue, use the feedback button at the bottom of any event page. We read every report; visible fixes usually ship within 24 hours.
