Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the island’s capital and cultural centre. Home to the Auditorio de Tenerife, TEA, the annual Carnival parade, and a rich calendar of concerts, exhibitions and gastronomic events year-round.

The big stages cluster around the harbour: the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín (symphonic, opera, jazz and touring shows), the Recinto Ferial for arena-scale concerts and Carnival galas, and the Espacio La Granja cultural space (the historic Teatro Guimerá in the centre is currently closed). TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes anchors the visual-arts calendar with free-entry exhibitions, while Parque García Sanabria and Plaza de España host open-air concerts, food fairs and the city’s biggest free events.

The calendar peaks twice: Carnival (late January–March), when the city centre becomes one continuous open-air party for two-plus weeks, and the spring–autumn concert seasons at the Auditorio. Sundays add the Rastro street market along the harbour — pair it with a morning concert programme for a full capital day out.
