Synopsis: POCO BAILAMOS tells the story of many people through the story of one dancer. It explores how cultural phenomena intertwine and how a dance step in the southern hemisphere can shape someone's life in the north. The story of a boy breakdancing in the eighties is sometimes a cliché — and sometimes a testament to dance's power to break clichés wide open. Our dance history in the Canary Islands isn't in any book, and that's what makes it kinky: it emerges from neighbourhoods like La Paterna Nueva, leaps from the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Barcelona and reaches all the way to L.A. Rooted in slave ships, it branches into locking, popping, hip-hop, house, breaking, krumping, freestyle, contemporary, jazz, tap, commercial, salsa, kizomba, Cuban rumba and more. Company: Lorite Producciones. In collaboration with: Red de Espacios Escénicos Municipales del Cabildo de Tenerife.
