Jazz al Aire Libre - Tenerife Jazz Camp at Teatro El Sauzal. As every year, the XIV Seminario Internacional Tenerife Jazz Camp gives us the opportunity to bring three of its outstanding faculty members to our stage for a unique and exclusive concert. Led by director Kike Perdomo, this year we will enjoy two musicians who appeared on two of his most celebrated recordings — AC&Funk and Elektrik&Funk: Borja Barrueta on drums and Martin Leiton on double bass, both professors at the seminar. Borja Barrueta is one of Spain's most in-demand drummers. Alongside his touring work with Jorge Drexler and Valeria Castro, Borja plays flamenco, jazz and world music across the globe. Martin Leiton is based in Barcelona and teaches double bass at the Liceu and ESMUC. He has released three albums as a leader — Medium (quartet), Poetry of Sound (trio) and Inevitable (big band) — and Aparecidas, with another LP, Caravana, due on the SEED label. He has performed alongside Jeff Ballard, Dave Kikoski, Kenny Werner, Perico Sambeat, Jorge Pardo, Chano Domínguez and Kike Perdomo, and has toured with Jorge Drexler, Niña Pastori, Juan Perro and Mala Rodríguez, among others. Kike Perdomo is one of Spain's most experienced musicians, having performed in over twenty countries. This concert offers a preview of Organic Trio Vol II, set for release in 2026.
