"Rebrote in concert" by Salan Producciones, at Teatro El Sauzal. Those who study words and language say that to rebrote is to resurge, to revive… and there is something in music that has everything to do with starting over, moving forward step by step, lying fallow, and returning to the path to meet fellow travellers along the way. That is how Rebrote was born: from the need to keep writing songs in one's inner world and sharing them with the outside world — on a record, at a concert, in a memory… Iñaki "Uoho" Antón (Extremoduro, Platero y Tú, Incoscientes…), Jaime Moreno (The Electric Alley), Jose Ignacio Cantera and Miguel Colino (both of Extremoduro), Jaime Tejedor (Indomables), and Iñigo "El Profe" López (Quaoar) make up the sextet that has just recorded their self-titled debut album in Iñaki's studio — produced by himself. The result is a rock that defies easy classification, though given where they come from, one can get a sense of the weight of what they've created. Labels were never much use when it comes to enjoyment, especially when what you're enjoying is something fresh. The album, and the tour ahead over the coming months, will prove it in the best way possible.
