Lornoar is a Cameroonian singer, songwriter, and dancer, born and raised in Yaoundé, the political capital of her country. She came to music early, making her professional debut as a singer in 2007 in clubs and cabarets in her hometown. She joined an orchestra and embarked on an extensive tour of Cameroon, performing alongside many of the country's artists. In 2010, she took part in the National Female Voices Competition «Massao» in Douala and won first prize. Most of Lornoar's songs are written in her mother tongue, a Bantu language from central Cameroon, though she also composes and sings in English and French. In September and November of 2012 she gave her first concerts in Paris. In 2014, she performed at the United Nations headquarters in New York for the opening of the Decade of People of African Descent. Lornoar is one of those unclassifiable artists who has developed a deeply personal, authentic, and diverse body of work. If her art had to be labelled, it would fall under the broad category of afro-world music. She offers an almost infinite palette of colours and nuances, experimenting and excelling in styles as varied as bossa, funk, cabaret, assiko, ekang, soul, zulu, makossa… Friday 12 June 2026 – 21:00h, Café Teatro Rayuela – Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
