Crosses and May Fires

The May Festivals of Los Realejos blend popular tradition with spectacular fireworks displays. The La Cruz Santa neighbourhood hosts cross chapels and flower-adorned altars or 'enrames', while the streets of El Sol and El Medio are the setting for the procession of the Cross. This unique event, declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, draws thousands of visitors every year.
