'Mover montañas' - Mapas 2026

The Auditorio de Tenerife's Mapas performance series presents 'Mover montañas' by Alberto Velasco. The work received the jury prize for Most Innovative Show at the XXV Festival Internacional TAC de Valladolid 2024 and was a finalist for Best Solo Dance Performance at the Premios de la Crítica de Barcelona 2024. "Today the essence of Iberian tradition has been manipulated for or against certain territorial and ideological agendas, and I refuse to let politics shape my experience and connection with the original, living spirit of a folklore that runs through me beyond borders or chronology. Tradition should be something that passes naturally and fluidly from generation to generation — a joyful oracle of encounter and communion. Tradition should not belong to museums and archives; it should belong to the memory of peoples, to homes and courtyards, bodies and mouths, and live in the passage from one to another."
