Alexandre Leao & Kadija Teles - Tensamba 2026

Alexandre Leão is a singer and songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists such as Maria Bethânia, Ivete Sangalo, Elba Ramalho and Rosa Passos. In this project he shares the stage with pianist and composer Kadija Teles, in a dialogue between song, voice and piano. The programme for the 23rd edition of Festival Tensamba includes exhibitions, workshops, talks, literature, fashion and various proposals linked to culture and contemporary creation. Planned activities include a new edition of Encuentro Voces de Mujer, the Roda de Samba, jiu-jitsu and capoeira demonstrations, jam sessions, and a range of educational and outreach events. Tensamba, sponsored by the Gobierno de Canarias through Promotur Islas Canarias and ICDC, Cabildo de Tenerife and Ayuntamiento de La Laguna, has built over its 23 editions a permanent space for exchange between artists, creators and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Since its beginnings, the festival has welcomed performers and projects from different generations and genres, progressively expanding its programme to make music the starting point for a much broader encounter with Brazilian culture.
