DOCanarias 2026

The DOCanarias International Reality Film Festival takes place in Puerto de la Cruz, a crossroads of cultures where winds and ocean currents have historically brought peoples and cultures together. DOCanarias is conceived as a space for non-fiction films that bring us stories from Africa and Latin America, articulating a distinctive and original language of real cinema that also allows for the rewriting of narratives. DOCanarias is also a film industry platform, strengthening the development and networking of projects generated through reflection, fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange among people from various regions of the global south. A cinema that is tolerant and raw, mysterious and passionate, beautiful and necessary — one that the DOCanarias team has been developing for 20 years through festivals such as MIRADASDOC and the MIRADAS AFROINDÍGENA laboratory.
