Festival of Our Lady of Candelaria. On the 14th and 15th of August, Candelaria hosts key events of the festivities in honour of the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The August festival of Our Lady of Candelaria, known as "the festival of the natives", includes the Guanche Ceremony on 14 August at dusk in Plaza de la Basílica and the solemn procession, High Mass and pilgrimage on 15 August. Admission to the events is free.
