Senior residents of El Rosario return to therapeutic and leisure bathing at Las Teresitas beach during July and August. Registration opens tomorrow. This leisure and free-time initiative aims to enrich the summer days of the municipality's older residents, who enjoy weekly rotating visits to the Santa Cruz beach — around 120 people each week. Registration remains open until all spots are filled. As in previous years, a free bus route organized by the town hall will pick up residents at various points across the municipality. The activity is free of charge and open to residents aged 60 and over who are registered in El Rosario. Reinstated in 2015 and continuing this edition, activities will again take place at Las Teresitas — a preference among participants due to the beach's typically calm waters and finer sand, which makes movement easier for older adults, many of whom have mobility difficulties. 'Seniors to the Beach 2026,' part of the Active Ageing Prevention and Promotion Programme, includes supervision by several trained staff who will lead the groups and run beach activities including toning exercises, gymnastics, memory games, and entertainment to make each beach day as enjoyable as possible.
