The call that sets off this emotional journey takes shape as a cry echoing off the mountains, a body learning to feed itself with its own hands, to bathe in cold water, and to dry off under the stars. Faced with the persistent question of why she wants to be a shepherdess — and why sheep — the creator responds with weight and memory. From there, on sleepless nights she stops counting sheep and starts counting broken hearts, tracing an affective personal genealogy. Shepherding is presented as a radical form of care and displacement. To love and to move follow the same logic: keep walking. The shepherdess's voice traces a historical journey from the earliest eclogues to the shepherdess of today, the timeless shepherd, and the Pastora Marcela — from the Renaissance to the present. Language migrates like the space itself, transforming as the piece progresses. And the body, too, gradually shifts into another.
